Tejas Park, Lake Georgetown
Sunday November 18, 7:00 to 11:00am

Join Craig Rasmussen for a short birding hike at Tejas Park at the confluence of the North San Gabriel River and Lake Georgetown. Many of the regular winter Texans such as sparrows, towhees, woodpeckers and raptors can be expected.

Tejas Park (also called Tejas Camp) can be accessed from Austin via Parmer Lane in north Austin which becomes Ronald Reagan Blvd. as it passes Highway 1431. From Austin: Take Parmer/Ronald Reagan northwest out of Austin past Highways 2243 and 29. Turn right on County Road 258 approximately 3 miles after the intersection of Highway 29 and Ronald Reagan Blvd. The park can be reached from I35 in Georgetown by taking Hwy. 29 west to Ronald Reagan and turning right (north). Tejas Park is approximately 1 mile from Ronald Reagan Blvd. just prior to the low water crossing over the North San Gabriel River.

Meet at the park at 7:00 am to listen for owls; field trip will begin about 7:20. For additional information contact Craig Rasmussen. This trip is limited to 10 participants.
